ELEMIS, the brand behind our favourite luxury skincare buys have collaborated with fashion designer Olivia Rubin and unveiled two limited edition travel bags packed with miniature versions of some of their hero products. We caught up with Olivia to find out more about the collection and her skincare rituals.
When did you first become interested in skincare?
My mum has always been a skincare fanatic, so I grew up watching her daily routine and have seen the incredible effects of that. I think I took on the same obsession since I was a teenager. I have always taken care of my skin and feel it’s so important to invest in high quality products that are gentle on the skin.
What was the first Elemis product you ever used?
Years ago, I was given a few ELEMIS heroes to try including the Pro-Collagen Cleansing Balm and since then I haven’t looked back!
Why did you decide to partner with Elemis?
I have loved and used ELEMIS products for years. I not only love the range of products, but the packaging, versatility and the way ELEMIS champion’s natural ingredients is really important to me. I believe that having skin that feels great contributes to that feel-good feeling and ELEMIS really speaks to that.
How did you choose the products to include?
I wanted to ensure the collections included skincare staples that I always go back to like the Pro-Collagen Marine Cream but also some exciting, more recent launches for people to discover like the Superfood Kefir Tea Mist and Dynamic Resurfacing Facial Pads which have both been my working from home saviours during this time. I am obsessed with the Peptide range and love the indulgent textures and aromatics each of the products in the collection has.
Which is your favourite product and why?
The Peptide4 Plumping Pillow Facial – it has transformed my night-time skincare routine!
What is your daily skincare routine (AM/PM)?
My daily routine is so simple but achieves visual results so quickly, which absolutely has a knock-on effect with my confidence and wellbeing. In the morning when I have slightly less time to myself my go-to products are the Dynamic Resurfacing Facial Wash in the shower followed by the Dynamic Resurfacing Facial Pads and Pro-Collagen Marine Cream. Throughout the day I love spritzing the Superfood Kefir Tea Mist for a boost of hydration and instant pick me up.
After double cleansing, every evening without fail I apply the Peptide4 Night Recovery Cream Oil and then follow with the Plumping Pillow Facial to lock in the moisture. I love knowing no matter how tired I am I will wake up with plump and soft skin.
How have you been looking after yourself during the pandemic/lockdown?
We have been given the luxury of time at the moment but running a business from my home plus home schooling my two girls still proves to be extremely hectic! Our wellbeing is so important right now so I make sure we all take time out as a family to bake (banana bread of course!), go for daily walks – enjoying nature and our surroundings and really just make sure I am staying positive which really helps to inspire me when working on new collections.
Have you adopted any new skincare rituals?
I love to indulge in a long, hot bath at least once a week after home schooling is done for the day and my girls are tucked up in bed. Those precious moments to myself are so valuable. I make sure I apply my Pro-Collagen Cleansing Balm as I run my bath, leaving it on to deep cleanse my skin whilst I soak. Heaven!
